Baby brought to AV hospital dead
A baby that was brought into Antelope Valley Hospital dead was born in a residence to a 25-year-old woman, sheriff's deputies said today.
The death is being investigated and sheriff's deputies believe the death to be "suspicious," Dep. Benjamin Grubb wrote in a statement.
Paramedics were called to the 1200 block of Meadow View Lane in Lancaster around 6:30 p.m. Sunday where they found a 25-year-old woman who had just given birth to a baby girl. The baby was not breathing and paramedics were unable to revive her, Grubb said.
Sheriff's deputies were then called to the Antelope Valley Hospital where the baby girl was taken.
The cause of the baby's death is unknown.
